Currently in our workshop we have for restoration the very rare and unique Camber GT as successfully raced by John D. Green. The car was built in January 1967 as a lightweight race car and one of only two built. It was fitted with a Broadspeed 1148cc engine producing 108 bhp, straight cut gears, and Broadspeed adjustable hydrolastic suspension.
Bryan is currently looking for any background information related to this car, photographs, events programmes, sales literature, price lists etc. If you are able to help he would be pleased to hear from you.
The original complete Broadspeed engine and gearbox was removed from the car in 1974 and subsequently sold. If anyone has information and build specification that could help in building a replacement engine I would be extremely grateful if they could make contact.
Research has highlighted that twelve Camber GT/Maya cars were built.
I understand that in a lock-up in Bramley, near Basingstoke is where the original body moulds were stored along with a chassis and another car but the building caught fire in July 2003 causing a considerable amount of damage. I would be interested if the moulds are still available along with any other parts.
